Paris Not Surprised

Paris, Jan. 13.

The press here this morning expressed but little surprise at the negative result of the Anglo-Italian talks in Rome and stressed the firm attitude of the British Prime Minister, Mr, Neville Chamberlain.

"What conclusions will the British Ministers draw from the Rome conversations? That is the secret of tomorrow," id "L'Action Francaise."

"L'Ordre" declared that the negative results bring up problems of a very positive and serious nature. "Italy, by all indications, will see serselt compelled to intensify her action in Spain and will be compelled to maintain or increase her demands from France. The entire problem _remains in the question of how far "Germany is prepared to support Rome."—Havas.
