Home Run in Ninth Chinese Solemn Outside Doyle Says No More

Breaks Tie — First Battalion Retains

Unbeaten Record; Pasko Makes Good as Pitcher Putting a strong finish to the end with two home runs, the First Battalion remained unbeaten in the City Baseball League when they outscored the Second Battalion by the odd run in seven on the Race Course diamond yesterday afternoon. The two four-baggers were made in the eighth and ninth innings by right-fielder Olsen and third-baseman Mudry, Pasko struck out seven batsmen gave seven hits and issued two free passes, while Fuller fanned a dozen batters allowed six hits and gave away three base on balls. The losing moundsmen was air-tight until the last two frames in which he loosened up.

Batting first, the First nine scored in the opening frame when the Second Battalion made three misplays. After King had fied out to Beeson in centre field, Mudry drew a free pass. Pasko reached first base on a fielder's choice while Mudry got to second when second-baseman Moore erred.

Olsen was fanned but Goush slapped out a bouncing shot towards short where Winchester fielded the ball but made a wild throw to frst, scoring Mudry for the opening run.
