Foreign Section—On January 1 there were 20 male prisoners in this section and the total on December 31 was 123. The highest number recorded during the year was 148 on July 18 and the lowest was 18 on January 4, There were two prisoners released on "Bail for Employment" and three Reformatory boys had their prison terms remitted and were released on completion of their reformation, period.
The health and conduct of the prisoners was good. There were 0 Geaths in this" section during the year.
Convict Labour Department—This department carried out the usual work and manufactured—various articles for the Council and. the Dublic throughout the year, includ-Ing minor repair work for the Public Works Department in the jail Precincts.
Strength of Staff.—There were 75 foreigners, 193 Indians and 252 Chinese on the jail stof.
