US. Neutrality

Isolationists Accused of Building Arguments On False Premise to Frighten People

Washington, Oct. 5.

ATTER debate on the Administration's neutrality legislation programme was resumed in the Senate yesterday after a one day adjournment in respect for the late Senator M. M. Logan of Kentucky who died Tuesday. Senator Tom. Connolly, Democrat of Texas, told the Senate yesterday that unless the Neutrality Act was changed by repealing its arms embargo provisions, the United States "will be brought to the brink of war, and perhaps plunged into its dark, cruel depths."

He said that opponents to revi ion ofthe Neutrality Act built their arguments on a false premise for the purpose of "frightening our people into accepting their bold and baseless statements."
