The American authorities are pre paring a detailed report on German propaganda activities in the United States, the Washington correspondent of the "New York Times" announced today. This would be in the nature of a reply to the German White Paper, he added. The report will include documents, articles, and records of radio talks, which aim at influence ing or dividing American public l'opinion.
To publish the German White Paper was a clumsy error on Germany's part, the "New York Herald-Tribune" asserted today. To say that the United States was partly responsible for the war because President Roosevelt assured the Allies of his sympathy was such an absurd manœuvre as to be unworthy of attention, the paper added. The whole thing is a camouflage of facts for domestic consumption, it continued. The clumsiness of Germany's propaganda has once again been proved, the "New York Herald-Tribune" concluded. Its only effect on American public opinion is to cause resentment at the Reich's impertinence to intervene in. American domestic affairs and willing no way strengthen Germany's cause in the eyes of Americans.—Havas.
The Russians are reported to be locally reassuring Rumania that they would not attack Rumania on behalf of German interests—Reuter.
