Watch Committee Considers Scheduled Expenditure for 1939 Running Into Millions T a meeting of the S.M.C. Watch Committee held on January 30, consideration was given to the estimates for 1939 of the Volunteer Corps, Fire Brigade and Police Force.
Annual Esti lates for 1939.—In accordance with the usual procedure, the various items of Extraordinary Expenditure were classified as follows:—
"A" Those to which the Council is already committed, or which are considered urgent, "B" Those for which, having regard to financial and other considera-fons, no appropriation should be made this year.
