Taking a Chance

Random Bund-thoughts

To the Editor of the "Nontt-Cunxa Dany News"

Sm—This morning's. "N.C.DN. headline reads "Terrorists Rampant Yesterday." Couldn't help but, think the British Lion Rampant. Wonder What that would look like in a crest? Wonder if they couldn't have couple of terrorists on their hind Togs, gurls drawn on either side of a few' hand grenades and such. Somewhere in the motif there should be ordure cart 10 show how bad ter rorism smells. Perhaps the eagle eye the police could be included. Wonder if Sapajou can do anything' about making up the crest. Wonder they could persuade terrorists, 10 wear the finished product to identity. themselves, Wonder if I-went in and. told him of my idea, whether I'd. get thrown out, Wonder if they'll print this. Wonder how many letters will come in telling the, Editor.off for printing such stupid stuff. 1 wonder—

Si—Please convey my hearty compliments to the Commanders of the British and USA. troops oF marines at Shanghai on the manner in which two of their soldiers or marines have saved a poor Chinese boy's life at Bubbling" Well Road (near Seymour Road) at about 6 p.m. on February 6.

"An apprentice of a shoe store near by, carrying hot water and crossing Bubbling Well Road, was knocked down by the rear of a certain hired car, Passing by, a British soldier, with a white band on his left arm, immediately stopped his motor cycle (bearing S-D.F. licence No, 1803) and carried the victim, with the assistance of a US. Marine, to the pavement, wailing for the arrival of & hospital ambulance which the S.C. Police, foreign and Chinese, had telephoned for besides their various emergency duties at that time.

These two British and US.A. soldiers or marines were highly appre-elated by. the crowd. for their humanitarian act towards such a poor young boy of apprentice class.
