Tokyo, Apr. 8.
Charges that Japan was waging a campaign of aggression and destruction against Chinese educational institutions, made by Miss Mary Stocks, dean of Westfield College, the University of London, were refuted by the National League of Japanese University Professors, in a message sent by the British scholar on Saturday, Investigations conducted by the League, the message stated, had established that Japan had not attacked or destroyed Chinese universities or other educational institutions so long as the latter were of used by the Chinese for military purposes.
The message also urged British professors not to lose their qualifications as scholars by being affected by groundless Chinese propaganda, but to weigh matters justly and fairly, The League also recommended that British professors visit East Asia to ascertain for themselves and offers the visitors assistance in securing all necessary facilities.—Domei,
