Mr, G. Pickering presided at the meeting which was held under the auspices of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, China branch.
In his opening remarks Mr. Barter dealt with the various properties contained in petroleum and the Products derived from the raw material. He dealt with the origin of the oil deposits from which petroleum was derived and with the' in prospecting and dfilling.
Under other headings, Mr. Barter outlined the methods used in the production of petroleum and in refining the raw materi cribed.the fire precau had to be taken when the product was used and the installations at the various depots and drilling grounds.
