Chungking, Feb. 27.
An important reconstruction conference attended by about 300 prominent Chinese engineers and industrialists opened at Chungking to discuss measures and projects proposed by the Chinese Government for the reconstruction and industrial development especially of North-western China.
Addressing the conference, Minister of tion Chen Li-fu stressed that besides of the development of the national defences, one of the most tasks is to develop the industries in the hinterland while General Chang Cheng emphasized the import-Jance of an immediate expansion and development of the communication lines in the interior of Chins.
