The French Foreign Office 5 yn said today the Allies would not tolerate Japanese occupation of Sumatra, Java, Borneo or Guinea "any more than Japan would tolerate an. American, British or French protectorate over the Dutch Empire." The location of the Dutch East Indies, south of the Philippines, has' led the French to believe the United States would be willing to "make issue with Japan should the latter attempt to occupy the Netherlands East Indies," the French spokesman stated.
