Way to Rangoon Quantity Stored in Colony For Kunming Line

Hongkong, Mar. 8.

Quantities of railway materials which have been stored here are being shipped to Rangoon in Burma to be used in the construction of the Burma-Kunming Railway, it was learned here today.

Having purchased large amounts of rails, ties, and other railway materials abroad, the Kuomintang regime has stored these supplies here since the fall of Canton. Deciding recently to utilize these materials for the projected construction of the Burma-Kunming Railway, the Chungking Government is said to have chartered several cargo boats of an unnamed Canadian steamship company for their transportation.

A first consignment is reported to have left for Burma last Sunday. It is estimated that two months will be necessary to complete the shipment of the railway materials.—Domei
