Chinese casualties sustained in engagements with Japanese troops in sectors east of the Han River were estimated by Japanese officers today to have reached 25,000.
The number of dead abandoned by the Chinese in these areas was said to be 3,500. A large amount of booty was also taken by the Japanese—Domei, Spiritual Mobilization Day in Chungking Chungking, Mar. 11 Representatives of all public institutions and schools today participated in an oath-taking ceremony in which they pledged themselves to give their fullest support in the present war.
