London, Mar. 14.

In a written reply in the House of Commons today, Mr. R. A. Butler, Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, said that no answer had been received by the British Consul-General to his enquiry on measures adopted by the Japanese authorities against the British Concession in Tientsin.

The Acting British Consul-General, however, he added, had interviewed Lieutenant General Homma, Japanese military commander, on March 6. when the whole position was reviewed. The Japanese commander undertook to discuss the matter with the Japanese Consul-General to enable the Consul-General to reply.

He understood, Mr. Butler went on that representations had also been made to the Japanese Government by ihe French and American Ambassadors.
