New York, May 20.
Ceferino Garcia, middleweight champion of the world, and Ken Overlin, challenger for the title, went through their Wal heavy training sieges today, each boxer sparring ten rounds with heavy gloves at top speed.
Overlin, former Navy fighter who captured the All-Fleet title in 1931 knocking out Remus in the 9th round, and Garcia, idol of Manila, are meeting at Madison Square Garden on Thursday in a bout that has attracted widespread interest.
Garcia is rated a 6-5 favourite to triumph over Overlin in spite of the fact that the celebrated bolo puncher will be facing a man who is very hard to hit and who can absorb terrific punches without apparent or immediate effect.—United Press
