Harlequins Superior

The superiority of the Harlequins was obvious when they got away to an encouraging start by scoring literally within the frst minute, Getting the better of the bully-off the forwards sneaked through the halves and full backs and after having carried the ball into the circle, Larsen ran up to slam it through.

In their attempt to hold off the determined aggressions of the Club the Spartans were forced to revert to a defensive game. The winners bombarded the United citadel and should really have had several more more points to their credit. They were dogged by ill luck, many of their shots hitting the goal-posts. Lintilhac scored the Club's second point when he sent the ball sizzling past Jacob with a hard drive soon after the resumption of the game.

The only time the Spartans ever came within scoring range was in the last five minutes and it was then that they scored from the penalty bully. The penalty was awarded as Bojesen's shot at goal way blocked by Burch's foot. In outwitting Burch in the bully Bojesen did not have much difficulty in scoring from point blank range.

The teams were:—
