The Wahu General Hospital School of Nursing graduated its 1040 class of urges on May 11, this being the thirteenth consecutive class to be Ker graduated from this institution. The exercises were held in the hospital chapel which had been beautifully decorated for the occasion. Flowers in profusion and other decorations were well arranged.
'At the appointed. hour the' chapel! was crowded with many Chinese foreign friends of the gradual class, seals being reserved for puplt and graduate nurses. Participants in the programme were seated on the platform, 'The nursing school procession, headed by. the superintendent of nurses, Miss Frances. E. Culley, and the nursing school faculty of' four members, The Misses Ting Ling-keng, Grace "Yao, Vincoo'Mushrush and Mrs, Lily Wuang entered. the chapel marching to musie furnished by Mrs. D, P. Olson at the plane, Following came the four graduates, their new. white uniforms who, while the congregation. stood, took their places directly in front of the pulpit, 'The programme included several selections "of music. Miss Margaret Lawrence sang beautifully a solo in Chinese. 'The. graduating class, the Nursing Schoci and local members of the 'Nurses' Association of China, sang their songs. Appropriate remarks came from members of the nursing school faculty and friends of the graduates and telegraphic greetings from a distance were read. In answer to these a member of the class made uractous response, An outstanding feature 0: the ne~ casion was the address to. the graduates by the Rev. Li Chow-wu of the Wuhu Christian—Chureh. Pastor Li forcefully emphasized the importance in the life work of a trained nurse, of earnest, faithful service rendered ina truly humble Spirit.
