Improbables to Meet Impossibles In First"Press Trial Today

Massed Material Presents Formidable Task For Selectors; Glut of Fine Players

The mighty Press machine will make a gallant attempt to progress from the problematical to the practical this afternoon when a stern effort will be made to hold something that it hoped to resemble a practice match. The task is admittedly a Herculean one, but the Knights of the Typewriter are more than confident that their efforts will bear abundant fruit, not to mention beer.

The Primary problem facing the selectors will be one of sorting out the massed material on hand, with the added difficulty of inculcating the idea into the heads of the eager "paper" athletes that a major essential in any soccer team is that there should be eleven men playing in eleven specific and different pos. tions on the feld. Up to date, the Press team consists (on their own recommendations) of thirteen centre. forwards, two goalies, six full backs. nine outside rights, five inside rights, four inside lefts, and one player whose untrammelled soul refuses to be hampered by the petty restrictions of, any one specified role.
