Business Deal Turns to Be Gambling Swindle Japanese Waiters Prepare Gift to Peace Advocate A former employee of the Hwa Shing Hong, 159 Peking Road, and another man, Ko Yi-jen, were brought before the First Special District Court yesterday and charged with fraud in Which they were alleged to have obtained, by trick, $2,500 from Ma Ching-piao, manager of the hong, in gambling party at which they played Pachiu.

At the first meeting, the business proposal was merely discussed for a short time. They soon turned their attention to gambling. It was suggested that a pacha gambling party should be arranged for the next day. They all turned up at the specified time and after the game, the manager Jost $2,500. Another pachiu party was arranged but the victim soon realized that he was being defrauded. He informed the police who arrested the two accused but they have not yet found the other swindlers or recovered the money.
