Washington, Mar. 18.
Senator Walter F. George. chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, predicted yesterday that the German military machine would collapse by disaffection of the conquered populations. when Britain attained equality with Germany in the air.
Germany's far-flung battlefield "daily becomes more extended." Senator George declared. "Every victory immobilizes a section of the Army to occupy territory.
"Let England but attain air equality with Germany and present a possibility of attaining air superiority and ihe conquered populations of Denmark, Norway. Holland and Belgium will give Hitler trouble which will be his eventual collapse.
The Georgia Democrat said unoccupied France was only "awaiting a leader" to "assert herself ogum and fake her rightful position among nations." At present the only military leaders who have presented themselves are "not men who can lift fallen France," Senator George stated, "'I.cannot believe France is so completely. crushed that she won't offer resistance. However, if she is, she must be prepared to remain in the category of a second-rate nation."—United Press.
