Frost Ovr Own Correspondent

Glasgow, Mar. 24.

The shipbuilding yards, specially he ones engaged in constructing wat vessels are working at high pressure.

s is as it ought to be for there is n strong feeling abroad to day that Germany cannot be permitted to con-nue on her present course in Zurope, Either Herr Hitler has got stop of his own accord and there are serious doubts as to whether or zat he can do that, or steps have got to be devised to do it for him.

The whole Scottish nation has been hocked to a degree by the course of vents in Europe these last few days Naturally business is being adversely Mffected. People are not anxious to spending money and there is a "ench to hold back because there is no certainty as to what may eventuate, If it does come to an armed struggle Scotland to a man almost will be behind he Government, Meanwhile as stated the shipyards are busy, exceptionally so, those of them engaged in fulfilling orders for the navy.

It is at the same time pathetic to realize that the yards which ought to be occupied in constructing merchant vessels are practically at a standstill. This ought not to be but it is a reflect tion on the times in which we are living. Unemployment is bad, perhaps not as bad as it was a few years ago when the country experienced so much awful depression but still for the present time the number of unemployed is more than there should be and the tragedy of the day is the fact that time, attention and money which ought to be devoted to solving this pressing and urgent problem have to be given to making the nation secure from aggressions from a possible outside quarter. Meanwhile four fine naval orders have just been given by the Admiralty to the Clyde.
