Destroy Foe Voiced in Letter from Home

YREPAREDNESS and determination to destroy the enemy are voiced in a letter, received by a Shanghai resident from her sister at Brighton, Sussex, in which the writer describes the conditions now prevailing at Home and the calmness with which Britons take things in the face of fierce German onslaughts from the air.

With regard to the food situation, the writer, a 62-year-old invalid, says that it is difficult, but adds that she is sorry for Shanghai residents, with the prices soaring as they are.

Text read from the printed page and cleaned; old type leaves the occasional error.
