What we shall get from the T.A. is two armoured divisions, six motor clusions and eighteen ordinary divisions. Our regular divisions are thu, io not in being. Assuming that /now numbered up to the 8th but the
scattered units are brought together to make it up, and counting three regülar armoured divisions, the full number to be available would be 37 divisions. Say that India adds three and in forecast one can say that we are a field force of 40 divisions, Continental standard indeed. In actual personnel the new establishments work out as follows Home and Colonies 6900 India and Burma 400 neutralizing that gain if used as a base. In fact the Adriatic can be closed and Italy made operative only on her south and west coasts. We are strengthening the Mediterranean gar-risens and Egypt and making up the new Middle East Force.
