It is understood that this measure will be taken in concert with the police of the French Concession as a precaution against any untoward incidents which may take place in connection with the anniversary.
According to a brief notification emanating from the Settlement police yesterday, the curfew orders will come into force from today, August 5, and will remain in force until Augu: 15. All persons found in the streets without a curfew pass between 12.30 am. and 5 a.m. will be detained and taken to police stations.
