Encroachments i P.I.

Foreseen Cause of Big Trouble; Action Urged Washington, May.24.

The United States may be involved in war with Japan over the Philips within two years Mr. John G. Allender, Democratic Representa-ye, said in Congress yesterday in urging appropriation of a fund to finance an investigation of the extent of Japanese penetration in the Philippines. E

"The United States is almost ready to go to war over Japan's aggression in China, he said, "but it is little realized that similar Japanese aggres-Sion in business and governmental activities has been taking place under Our very eyes in the Philippines, an integral part of the United States."

"Mr. Allender predicted that after Japan seized China, she would attempt to occupy the Netherlands East Indies and the Philippines.

"It may take two years, but I doubt that it will take longer," he warned. He said Congress should adopt his proposal to bring to the "forceable attention of the people of the United States the possibility of our becoming involved in a Far Eastern war."
