London, Feb. 15.

"General licence has been granted to British subjects to enlist in Finnish forces, and a licence has been issued to the recruiting orgānization established in London" declared Captain O. Peake, Under Secretary of State for Home Affairs, in a reply to a question on this subject in the House of Commons yesterday.

His Majesty's Government had carefully considered this matter, he said, in the light of a resolution passed by the Assembly of the League of Nations on December 14, on the subject of provision of assistance for Finland.

Government circles have thought that should British subjects, who wished to volunteer for service in Finland, be hindered by the provisions of the Foreign Enlistment Act, it would be inconsistent with the spirit of the terms of that resolution, he concluded.—Reuter.
