After the interval, a group has been arranged to illustrate the humour and witticism in French music and the items of the group are: the "Golliwogg's Cake-Walk" by Debussy (with that amusing "jazzy" caricature of Tristan-and-Isolde's love-philter leit-motif!) and the Valse-Parade-and-
Can-Can from the "Divertissement" by Ibert.
Finally, to conclude the unusual programme, the Conductor has chosen one of the finest examples of the modern French sparkling music, namely the "Choreographie Poem on Viennese Waltzes" by Ravel: "La Valse."
