Decaying Relic

To Christianity's critics, however, the visible Church presents another picture. There are in the world today not only isolated individuals, but also social and political groüps, who hold that the Church is a fast decaying relic of medievalism. If all that they say is true then it is not the analogy of the fair, beautiful bride that fits the Church, but rather that of the old man described in the concluding chapter of the book of Ecclesiastes. You may recall the graphic picture of senile decay given us there, how the old man with all his powers—strength of limb, sight Canton and Vu Ya Ching Roads, and after a few days let the public know what he has achieved in the way of alleviating the suffering of the wretched animals kept in those shops.

Having had occasion to visit there today I was very distressed to find a series of small containers so closely packed with live frogs that those at the bottom must have been well nigh crushed. The condition under which the' other animals are kept would revolt any decent person and it is time the Society took steps to remedy this once and for ell.
