Though the majority of well-informed persons in Turkey believe that the concentration of huge forces on both sides of the Russo-German frontier is a bluff in order to secure a better position in negotiations which are considered imminent, there are many who take a more serious view.
The latter claim that Russia is seriously perturbed about the present situation and has turned Bessarabia into an armed camp, having mined all roads leading to the frontier and having spread on them a mixture designed to hamper, the advance of enemy tanks.
Reichsmarshal Goering's saying that "Germany needs the Ukraine for a prolonged war against the Anglo-Saxons." ig being recalled, and it is believed that Germany has proposed to Russia a condominium over the Russia Holding Manoeuvres London, June 15.
Extensive manœuvres including parachute and tank exercises are taking place in various parts of Russia, says the Swiss radio. Among the places where the manceuvres are being held are the Moscow district and Diev.—Reuter.
