Juniors Give Fine Support

Though it was the ace marksmen of the American Company that paved the way to this company's victory, their impressive showing was only made possible through their junior riflemen rendering superb support. This unit was not conceded as much chance to carry off major honours as the "A" Company, who, with no less than 14 qualified marksmen in their ranks, stood out as firm favourites to emerge victorious. The American Company's win is even more creditable in view of the fact that they had qualified five men as marksmen.

The conditions of the shoot was as follows:—

200 yds. Application—5 rounds. 200 yds. Snapshooting—S rounds. 300 yds. Appiication—rounds. 300 yds. Rapid Fire—l0 rounds. H.P.S.: 9 points.

Pfc. Berglof came within an ace of registering a possible as he negotiated the first three practices without dropping a single point. In the last practice, however, Berglof conceded his only point of the competition when he scored nine bulls—and one inner, It was also in this practice that Sgt, M. A. Kuhn, another top-ranking marksman of the American Company, found his greatest difficulty; he scored one bull end nine inners in the rapid and finished up with a score of 84 for third place on the American Company team.
