Knitted Scarves

After the first few ounces of wool have been knitted, it is a good plan to fold the end of the scarf once or twice and clip the folds together at each side with spring clothes-pegs. Folded in this way a scarf is compact and easy to handle, A clean paper carrier-bag makes a useful receptacle for bulky pieces of knitting, such as long, heavy scarves. While the work is being done the bag may be placed on the floor, or hung on the back of a chair, and used as a wool-holder. The ball of wool turns easily inside the smooth bag, but it cannot fall out.
