Jewish Refugees

Geneva, June 15. The Mandates Commission of the League of Nations today finished its examination of the report on Palestine. i The Mandate disclosed that owing to the heavy cost of the recent disturbances, the education budget for 1989 will have to be reduced.

The general impression here is that despite the disturbances, the administration has been functioning smoothly. Police vigilance regarding narcotics has in no way been relaxed.

It was disclosed that special measures are being taken to relieve unemployment, which is more prevalent among Arabs than among Jews.—Reuter.
