Singapore, June 19.
A Dyak, descendant of the former much-feared head-hunters of Borneo, went to jail to spite the government.
The Dyak was accused of possessing illicit contraband opium and pleaded guilty. To the court he explained that he had been so annoyed with the government for giving him notice to quit his land for non-payment of taxes that he decided to sell contraband opium in order to get caught and sentenced to prison, where he would live free for a few months, The court refused to disappoint bum and a sentence of imprisonment was duly passed.—United Press.
