Another Under-dog Wins

The lowly Philadelphia Phillies upset the third-place New York Giants at the Polo Grounds in a twelve-inning thriller. New York jumped into an early two-run lead, but the Phillies knotted the count in the eighth. In the 12th, a pass to pitcher Tommy Hughes and singles by Dan Lithwhiler and Stan Benjamin drove across the winning Canidrome Results run.
