Stockholm, Apr. 17. Contact was established today between Allied and Norwegian troops, the Norsk Telegrambyra, the official Norwegian news agency, announced. Germans sent reinforcements to Trondheim by air, probably from Denmark. The downing of two German planes was confirmed. The communique admits the fortress of Kongsvinger has been taken by the Germans.
Fierce battles have occurred near the Norwegian-Swedish border, between the Swedish sea-port resort of Stornies and Monsaisn, according to reports reaching here. German troops have control of the Narvik railway up to Bjoernsaele, about a half-mile from the Swedish frontier.
A Norwegian company which crossed the border before the advancing German troops was interned. Latest reliable reports say Kongsvinger is now held by German troops.—Havas.
