3 Ewo Shield Taken

Louza Blues Beaten; UB — Trophy to Sinza; Single Title Won by Hamlen

Before a large crowd of darts enthusiasts at the Police Club on Saturday evening the Royal Army Service Corps turned back the threat from Louza Blues by the narrow margin of two games to one land thus clinched the Open League title and with it the handsome Ewo Trophy.

All three games Were fairly evenly contested but the soldiers appeared to have that so important little in reserve when it was needed most. The Blues took the first leg after being left behind badly at the start but the British Tommies made no mistake in the remaining encounters to take the league and title and thus deprive Louza Blues, last year's winners under the name of Gordon Road, from again having their name emblazoned on the shield.

The winning team all played well and while no very high scores were recorded, the standard throughout was good and thoroughly appreciated by some 150 interested spectators.
