Tokyo. Aug. 8.
Deseribin; ihe recent statements of Mr. Cordell Hull and Mr. Anthony Eden regarding alleged Japanese threats of invasion against Thailand as "blustering. harangues." the "Kokumin Shimbun" in an editorial urged the Japanese Government to break its silence "to blast away false impressions created by Britain and the United States."
That the Japanese Government is fully qualified to meet any situation brought about by such propaganda is needless to say, the "Kokumin" Said. However, there was a difference between "silence" and "action without words" the journal pointed out, asserting that silence at this time might create the impression that Britain and America's false proland was true. and Mr, Eden's statements were only the continuance of the same attacks.
