Hopes For Future

The hope of an early resumption of racing in England has made many breeders and owners take a more ros view of future prospects, and it is even thought now that there may be a boom in British bloodstock at the end of the war, whether that comes early or late.

France has for all practicable purposes ceased to exist as a producer of thoroughbred race-horses. No certificate of legitimacy will be accepted for horses coming from the famous Normandy studs that are now in German hands. When the war is over French stables will have to be filled with British blood-stock, and that will be true of every country on the Continent where racing has flourished and may flourish again The Germans recently "Aryanised," and, in fact, Germanized, their racing, even going to the length of re-famine their Derby, but if ever racing is established again there it will be through British bloodstock—Reuter.
