In regard to the fire account, the figures show very little change as compared with the previous year, and generally they call for little comment. It is recognized that war conditions have led to a considerable dislocation of fire business, and in the circumstances it is satisfactory to note that our fire premium figures have been well maintained and that the fire account has contributed £5,000 to the profit and loss account.
In regard to accident business, which continues to present: its own particular difficulties, the figures of the accident and general account for the year show little change, and the account contributes £500 to our profit and loss account.
