MHE two sub-committees appointed to discuss the question of policing the British Concession in Tientsin and the thorny problem of the Chinese specie, which the Japanese have asked to be handed over by banks in the Concession, sat today in sweltering heat, The discussions were long and have been practically completed. Therefore it is likely that a full conference will be held tomorrow. It appears that the question of the policing of tht British Concession has been solved bul, so far, there has been agreement about the removal of the silver from the Concession. Further explanations of the Japanese claims for its removal were presented today.
According to Gaimusho and Embassy officials, the proceedings at the conferences are being conducted smoothly despite the contentious nature of the problems to be discussed and the very hot weather.
The sub-committee investigating the silver problem has prepared a report for submission to Mr. S. Kato, Ambassador-at-Large, and Sir Robert Craigie, British Ambassador.
