Nobody Else Can Hit So Hard

Godoy Has No Excuses Louis to Meet Winner Of Baer-Galento Bout

New York, June 21.

Hot upon the heels of Joe Louis' sensational re-establishment as the rings "super-killer" by virtue of his convincing and murderous victory over lion-hearted Arturo Godoy, Mike Jacobs, Czar of Boxing, this morning announced that the Brown Bomber will be matched late in September with the winner of the battle between Max Baer and Tony Galento, to be held on July 2 in Jersey City.

Jacobs added that if Galento defeats Baer—and most experts are inclined to think that he will—Tony will meet Louis here owing to the Beer Barrel's local popularity. If Baer wins, however, the title fight will be staged in Chicago, where'Baer has always been very popular, Louis this morning bore no marks whatever to indicate that only last nigh he defended his world title for the 11th time, and against a rugged, courageous foe who extended him to the limit only six months ago.
