Hitler. Knew

It ly sometimes to be wondered whether Hitler ever reads his own work "Mein Kampf" and whether, if he does, the significance of what he has written there ever penetrates his brain. It will be remembered that in that book, which contains amongst an absurd amount of nonsense, gems of thought which appear almost Prophetic, such as his declaration that the signing of an agreement with Russia would mean the imminence of war, and Germany's ultimate defeat, Well he has got his war, and Great Britain and her Allies are preparing to see that he gets his defeat. Yet Hitler must have realized what he was taking on when he about the British, 5 forted the war, for read wi by. the inert mass of arms which it has at hand desirable as an ally is not so much.

"The question whether or not

but by the obvious presence of a sturdy will to national self-preservation and a heroic courage which will fight through to the last breath.....

"The British nation will therefore be ccnsidered as the most valuable ally in the world as long as it can be counted on to show that brutality and tenacity in its government, as well as im the spirit of the broad masses which enables it to carry through to victory any struggle that it once enters upon, no matter how "long such a struggle may last or however great the sacrifice that may be necessary or whatever the means that have to be employed: and all this even though the actual military equipment at hand may b" utterly inadequ: when cóm-pared with that of other nations."

Where he gets the idea of the brutality of the British Government it is a little difficult to understand, for if ever there were a government which is the epitome of sheer wanton brutality it is that of his own fashioning. Apart from that it is possible for this journal together with every loyal Briton cordially to endorse Hitlers own words that Britain will "carry through to.victory any struggle that it once enters upon, no matter how long such a struggle may last, or however great the sacri-ace that may be necessary."
