President Roosevelt yesterday proclaimed September 8 a day for Americans to pray for the return of world peace.
"We have endeavoured to prevent the spread of war e our voices against international justice," the President said.
Americans and lovers of freedom we e humbly sympathetic with those who are facing tribulation in lands across the seas."
At the same time, Mr. Roosevelt reminded the country that the Govern ment is rushing defence preparations to protect the freedom of the Americas.—United Pre America, Britain to
