Man glories in man, and not in God, thus arousing human pride and pugnacity, and so history repeats itself.
"Facts are stubborn things," but is there to be no end Yes, thank God, it is only UNTIL, until when? UNTIL HE COME WHOSE RIGHT IT IS. Is there any doubt about who God deems worthy of this universal dominion How many candidates can there be for this honour? ONLY ONE has proved Himself worthy of receiving the kingdoms of this world as a gift from God, God's own Son and Heir, The Lord Jesus Christ. To Him they shall be given when the overturning is complete. The word "overturn" is thrice repeated in our English version of Ezekiel 21, v 27 and in living memory we have already seen one great overturning in the war of 1914-18. All departments of human life were altered after that upheaval and extensive developments have been made, by man's inventiveness. Increased glory for man, but less for God.
We are now passing through that, which. when it is over, will completely change all human society, and probably prepare the way more clearly for the last great monarch, even Antichrist, who must first come, and head up the climax of man's rebellion and independence of God. A climax which will certainly result in a third overturning at the last great battle of Armageddon "For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle..
Then shall the Lord go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle, and His feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives. Reader, be entreated. Reader, be warned. "See that ye refuse not Him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spoke on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from Him that speaketh from heaven. Whose voice then shook the earth: but now He hath promised, saying "YET ONCE MORE I SHAKE NOT THE EARTH ONLY, BUT ALSO HEAVEN". Wherefore, receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire."
