Loan Negotiations By Mr. T. V. Soong

Report That $100,000,000

Obtained is Unknown to U.S. Government Officials Washington, Sept. 5.

United States Government officials yesterday professed ignorance of reports that the Chinese financial expert, Mr. T. V. Soong, had negotiated a US$100,000,000 loan in the United States.

Officials indicated that if such a loan had been obtained, it had been negotiated with private banking interests and not from any Government agency.

In response to a question during a press conference here yesterday, the Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, said he could not discuss the matter without having had further information.
