Ex-Minister Returning To Face Charges

M. Guy La Chambre Elects To Be Tried for War Guilt

Washington, Sept. 12.

M. Guy La Chambre, Air Minister in the Daladier Government of France, revealed last night that he was returning to France immediately to face charges of war guilt. He said that he desires to stand trial because "it is a question of my honour."

M. La Chambre added that his conscience was clear and that he was confident that the French Supreme Court would vindicate him.

He was repeatedly accused by France's present leaders of being one of the men chiefly responsible for allowing France to enter a war while fully acquainted with the fact that the country was totally unprepared for a major conflict.

He also will have to face charges of allowing the French aircraft industry to drop to a low level while he was Air Minister.—United Press.
