Tue arrival of war prisoners in England recalls the story of the elderly German officer who, during the last war, was brought to a place "somewhere in Scotland." As he was a proud old gentleman he was much mortified at being taken prisoner.
He spoke English well, and kept telling his escort that his son, a major in a crack regiment, would be sure to avenge the disgrace which had fallen on the fam.ly name.
On arriving at the prison camp the escort were highly amused to hear their charge greeted by a cheery voice shouting; "Hullo, papa, have they got you too?"
