In Manchuria Fighting Reported from Kirin Province

Chungking, Feb. 3.

Activities of Chinese guerillas in Manchuria have been intensified recently, particularly in north-east and east Kirin province, according to Chinese reports reaching here.

Fighting is said to have occurred between guerillas and Japanese forces on the north bank of the Jaoli River in east Kirin on January 31.

Engagements are also stated to have taken place on February 1 at Fuyuan, in east Kirin.—Reuter.

Gold nuggets weighing three and a half ounces were found on Thursday on Int. Yatai in Shansi province by coolies employed by the Okura Mining Company, the "Nichi Nichi" chain of newspapers reported today.

The Taiyuan correspondent for the chain of papers reported the discovery, the "Nichi Nichi" said. Several other nuggets of a much smaller size were also found on the same spot, the newspaper said it learned.

The nuggets were reported to have been located about 20 yards above a place once mined by Chinese Communist soldiers, the paper said. The spot was located near the banks of the Puto River.—Domel.
