Tokyo, Feb. 3.
Major-General Masao Nakamura was killed in action near Kiutang on November 25 last year while engaged in operations against Chinese forces north-east of Nanning, Kwangsi, the War Office announced im a communique issued at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
Major-Gen. Nakamura was posthumously promoted-to the rank of Meutenant-general the communique stated, A member of the 25th graduating lass of the Japanese Military Acà- gory, Lieut-Gen. Nakamura was 47 years old of the time of his death. He was an offücer of the French Legion of Honour, besides holding various Japanese decorations.—Domei
