Hongkong Evacuees May Not Return

Hongkong, Nov. 22.

"The Secretary of State for Colonies sees no prospect of an improvement in the Far Eastern political situation at present to justify the return of the British families which have been evacuated," states an off cial communique issued here today.

The Hongkong Government received advice to this effect when it sought the instructions of the Home Government, following petitions from evacuees and husbands to the local authorities, asking that evacuated persons should be allowed to return to the Colony.—Reuter.
